BISS UK AM CDN FR ND LUX CH. Yasashiikuma Lest We Forget – “Dragoon”

Born on Rememberance Day, and as the last puppy ever bred by my partner Chris Shaw, who died three weeks before he was born, Dragoon needed to have a very special name – therefore he was named Lest We Forget, and called Dragoon in honour of the Royal Canadian Dragoons, Canada’s oldest military regiment.

Dragoon is still a very young dog but has already reached great milestones, winning Best of Opposite Sex at the Canadian National Specialty at two weeks over 18 months old.   He was handled to this win by Mark Ragusa, who he made work as hard as he did for the win.  The judge was Diane Baillie of Dygae Pembroke Welsh Corgis of Australia.

In the summer of 2011, Dragoon went over to Europe for six months, and gained his UK championship in 5 shows, as well as his French, Dutch and Luxembourg championships.  He was also reserve World Winner, and Euro Winner for 2011.

He is  now starting his show career in North America.  I intend to special him myself in 2012.

Day 1 of the 2010 back-to-back specialties of the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of the Western Reserve he was Reserve Winners Dog under Corgi breeder-judge Simon J. Parsons.

Day 2 of the specialties he was again Reserve Winners Dog under Cardigan breeeder judge Janet Robinson.

At the CWCCA National specialty Dragoon won the 15-18 month sweepstakes class under Betty Ann Seely, and placed 4th in the regular specialty class under Marieanne Gladstone. He was handled for these wins by Tim Zeitz.

Dragoon finished his Canadian Championship in November 2009 at the Ottawa Kennel club just a day over a year old, going Best of Winners all three days.

In September 2009 Dragoon came home to Canada and entered his first Canadian show – winning Best Puppy in Group at the Belleville District Kennel Club show.handled by Justin Young.

Dragoon showed at the CWCCWR specialty in 2009 and from the 6-9 month classes won Best of Opposite sex in Puppy Sweeps under Eileen Eby, and Reserve Winners Dog under Nancy Cunliffe. He was handled in the U.S. by Kathy Schwabe, who co-owned him at the time.

Dragoon has earned both his majors in the U.S. by seven months of age, so now he just needs 6 points to finish his American Championship also.
